Earl Hopper on the topics of four lectures of this Conference:
“In the first two of this series of lectures I will considerthe contemporary concept and theory of the social unconscious in Foulkesian Group Analysis with respect to the sociality of human nature and the matrix of social systems. 1 will then focus on the concept and theory of the tripartite matrix as the hallmark of Foulkesian Group Analysis as a clinical discipline, and will illustrate this with clinical data.
In the third lecture I will outline mytheory of lncohesion:
Aggregation/Massification as the fourth basic assumption in the unconscious lite of social systems. In this lecture I will specify sorne of the socio cultural manifestations of the fear of annihilation within the dimensions of the tripartite matrix.
In the final lecture I will consider fundamentalism and scapegoating as the twin pillars of massification, and offer sorne speculations about scapegoating that might help us understand more fully the unconscious connections between the Covid pandemic, Black Lives Matter Movement, ande ven sorne kinds of terrorism.”
